Why dental assisting

A real career, without putting your life on hold

Not everyone can step away from work for two years of full-time school. You don't have to. Our program runs one day a week, on Saturdays, for eight weeks.

Work that matters

You help people feel better about themselves every single day. Patients remember their assistant — you're the person who makes the visit bearable.

Stable, portable demand

Dental offices exist in nearly every town in the country. Health care keeps hiring when other industries slow down, and your training travels with you.

Eight Saturdays, that's it

Keep your job, keep your income, keep your routine. Reading and homework happen during the week so class time stays hands-on.

About CADA

You'll learn where the work actually happens

Our school is built inside a practicing dental office in Old Town Camarillo — a practice with more than twelve employees that has served Ventura County for over twenty years. You train on the same chairs, the same instruments, and the same technology you'll use on your first day of work.

Teaching is fast-paced and depends on your participation. Groups are capped at ten students per instructor, so nobody hides in the back row. An excellent textbook covers the reading — yes, there is homework — which frees classroom time for the hands-on work that actually gets you hired.

Stop by any time for a tour. Many of our students enroll alongside a friend or relative.

Olga Robles, RDAEF

"I found dentistry through a vocational program, just like the one you're looking at right now."

Olga was born and raised in Ventura County and discovered her passion for dentistry — and for making people smile — while completing a vocational dental assisting program. She went on to earn her registered dental assistant license and built a career across both general and pediatric dentistry.

Drawn to the science of the field, she completed the extended functions program for Registered Dental Assistants at UCLA, and holds an academic degree from Oxnard College. Her commitment to helping others has taken her abroad on philanthropic trips, providing dental care to disadvantaged children in Guatemala and elsewhere.

Today she teaches the next generation of dental professionals — CADA students.

Questions

Before you enroll

Do I need any prior experience or a medical background?

No. Most of our students come from completely unrelated jobs. We don't consider that time wasted — those jobs are the stepping stones that brought you here. What you need is an eagerness to learn and the willingness to keep up with the reading.

How much time will this take outside of Saturdays?

Expect reading assignments and homework during the week. We use an excellent textbook precisely so that classroom time can be spent on hands-on training rather than lecture. Plan for a few hours of study between sessions.

Where exactly is the school?

92 Palm Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010 — in Old Town Camarillo, inside a practicing dental office that has served the community for more than twenty years. Parking is available on site.

What is the $175 deposit for, and is it refundable?

The deposit holds your seat in the class and is applied toward your tuition. Because class size is capped at ten students, seats are assigned in the order deposits are received. Please call us at (805) 308-2231 to discuss refund and transfer policies before you pay.

Will I be able to find work after the program?

There are more than ten thousand dental offices in the five counties surrounding us, and dental offices exist in nearly every city in the United States. Many practices are goal-oriented and will offer additional specialized training once you're hired. The course concludes with résumé and interview preparation.

Can I visit before I commit?

Please do. Stop by any time for a tour, or come to the open house before the class begins. Many students enroll together with a friend or family member after visiting.
